BBC denies reports that Danny Dyer is facing ‘dressing down’ over response to homophobic tweets
The BBC has denied reports claiming that Danny Dyer is facing a “dressing down” over his recent response to homophobic tweets.
After Danny Dyer’s on-screen son came out to him on Eastenders earlier this week, the star thanked fans for their “overwhelming” support on Twitter.
However, he also responded to a contingency of homophobic tweets with a humorous picture guide:
Here’s a little message for some of the homophobic pricks who are tweeting me……..happy new year. pic.twitter.com/0tiHPU2x01

According to Digital Spy, one tabloid report today claimed that the actor is now in trouble with his bosses for standing up to the abusive messages.
However, a spokesperson for the show responded, saying: “There’s no truth in the story that Danny will be getting a dressing down from bosses.”
The episode featuring character Johnny’s first gay kiss had generated a torrent of homophobic abuse from a minority on Twitter.
The BBC told PinkNews that only 2 complaints were made about the kiss out of approximately 7.9 million viewers.
