Jury told Vicky Pryce ‘planned to out Chris Huhne as bisexual’
The ex-wife of former energy secretary Chris Huhne planned to out him as bisexual in the media, a jury has heard.
Vicky Pryce was determined to tip off journalists about claims the disgraced former Lib Dem MP was interested in men, a court heard yesterday.
The government economic adviser had been left devastated when Mr Huhne left her for aide Carina Trimingham.
Constance Briscoe, 56, a part time judge, is accused of lying about how she helped economist Ms Pryce reveal she took his speeding points in 2003.
Referring to the private allegations made by Ms Pryce against her ex-husband, Briscoe said: “She was very concerned how the children would react if she was the one putting out this information about their dad.”
Mr Huhne and Ms Pryce were themselves jailed last year for perverting the course of justice, but during the investigation, Ms Briscoe was also charged with lying to police.
Briscoe, of Clapham, South London, denies perverting the course of justice.
The trial continues.
