Anti-gay law doesn’t stop Grindr use from tripling at Sochi
Use of the gay dating app Grindr has tripled in the Sochi areas, developers say, despite an anti-gay law which has caused an international outcry.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law last year banning the promotion of “non-traditional sexual relationships” to minors.
The Sochi Winter Olympics are currently taking place.
The app’s owners confirmed that the number of active users on Grindr had jumped from 185 to 541 since the games started.
