Video: What life could be like if Russia abolished it’s anti-gay laws
LGBT rights campaigners have produced a video showing what life could be like if Russia abolished its laws governing gay ‘propaganda’.
The video, which was not filmed in Russia, shows revellers taking part in a fictional Pride celebration in Moscow’s Red Square.
In 2012, Pride celebrations in Moscow were banned for a total of 100 years.
Countries such as India, where a ban on homosexuality was restored in December last year, and African nations are also included in the short video, which has the support of Benetton’s UNHATE Foundation and is for its UNHATE News initiative.
UNHATE is working in collaboration with the United Nations’ Department of Public Information to support 10 youth-driven initiatives around issues to do with civil rights.
