Ellen Page responds to letter sent from anti-gay pastor – ‘my soul isn’t struggling’
Hollywood actress Ellen Page, who came out as gay last month, has responded to a letter from a pastor she received denouncing her sexuality.
The 27-year-old tweeted her response to the views of the pastor on Saturday, saying she prefers the “arms of a girl” to the “arms of the Heavenly Father.”

Last month, Page came out at an event organised by the Human Rights Campaign, saying: “I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission.”
She explained: “I’m here today because I am gay” to whoops from the audience. Adding: ”And because…maybe I can make a difference to help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility.”
“My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered,” she told the audience. “And I’m standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain.”
