Match.com: Bisexuals will no longer be charged double to search for both men and women
Match.com has pledged to make it easier for bisexuals to use its dating service, following revelations by PinkNews that bisexual customers had been asked to purchase two separate subscriptions in order to search for both men and women.
In a customer service reply to a bisexual user obtained by PinkNews, the company stated: “We understand you are bisexual and would like to be able to search for both men and women.
“Bisexual members would be required to have 2 separate profiles. Unfortunately, this would mean purchasing two separate subscriptions.”
On Tuesday, the company confirmed that bisexuals will no longer be asked to pay double, and that it would be “making it easier for bisexual members to use the service”.
The company said in a statement to PinkNews.co.uk:-
“As with a number of dating sites within the UK, it is not possible to set up a profile to review both male and female profiles at the same time. We can confirm that we will set up your reader with two profiles so that they can review both male and female profiles on the site. The second profile will be provided at no additional cost to the member.
“In addition, we will be making it easier for bisexual members to use the service. All they need to do is contact our customer services team directly to be set up with two profiles as part of the existing subscription.
“Our Customer Care team is available to help on 020 305 96 492. Lines are open from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.”
Changes to the policy are in effect from today.
