Christian group advertises on Grindr, denies trying to ‘change’ gays
A Christian group that is running a large-scale advertising campaign on Grindr says it isn’t trying to save people from homosexuality.
Users of the gay cruising app Grindr have begun to notice adverts from Christian movement GodLife.
The adverts have so far been spotted by Grindr users in Australia, Spain, Iceland, Canada, the US and the UK.
Despite advertising on the app, GodLife’s website does not make any reference to homosexuality or gay people, though it does state: “God will remove His hand from your service to Him if you allow lust to lead you to actual sexual immorality.”
When asked why they were advertising on the gay cruising app, GodLife told SameSame: “Wow, we really are all over the world.
“We do not judge anyone. We simply want you to know the love of God and what His son did to save you from your sin.
“I am not trying to change you from who you are at all. God made you just the way you are.
“He loves you that way so who am I to go against God’s love. Happy Easter to you too. He has Risen!
“If you have any questions or need prayer about something in your life please let me know. God bless you and keep you safe from all harm.”
Update: Grindr has confirmed it will remove the adverts from the app.
