New York: Suspects arrested for attacking gay man, leaving him with ripped eye socket
Four men have been arrested in connection with a homophobic attack on a gay man in New York.
Taj Patterson suffered injuries to his right eye after he was assaulted on 1 December last year in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The attackers shouted anti-gay slurs and he was beaten on the ground.
The 22-year-old fashion student, who was making his way home from a party, received a broken eye socket, torn retina, and cuts to his right knee and hip.
He was treated at Woodhull Hospital and released after undergoing surgery to reattach his retina.
Police are still searching for a fifth suspect they believe is linked to the crime.
The New York Post reports charges against the suspects are pending.
