US: Three polyamorous lesbians expecting first child together
Three polyamorous lesbians have announced they are expecting their first child together, and claim to be the first lesbian throuple to have a baby.
Brynn, Doll and Kitten Young, from Massachusetts, are expecting their first child in July.
According to the New York Daily News, Doll, 30, and Brynn, 32, had been in a relationship for over two years before they were joined by Kitten, 27.
The three married in a ceremony last August, though the state does not legally recognise their union.
Brynn said: “In our eyes we are married. We had specialist lawyers draw up paperwork so our assets are equally divided.
“I cried watching Doll and Kitten walk down the aisle towards me with their dads. After we said our vows, Doll and Kitten kissed me first then each other.”
Kitten, who underwent IVF via anonymous donor to carry the child, said: “The three of us have always wanted kids and wanted to grow our family.
“We decided that I’d be the one to carry the babies because I’d like to be a full-time mum.”
Massachusetts was the first state to recognise same-sex marriage in 2004, but it does not recognise marriages with more than two partners.
