Seattle police are hunting for a suspect, wanted in connection with the murder of two gay men.

Police have said they are looking for Ali Muhammed Brown, a black male, who is thought to be armed and dangerous.

He is wanted in connection with the double murder of two gay men on Sunday morning.

According to KING5, Ahmed Said and Dwone Anderson-Young, were making their way back from a nightclub in the early hours of the morning when they were shot and killed down the road from Anderson-Young’s home.

Police have not disclosed a possible motive for the killings, but Mayor Ed Murray has reportedly suggested it could be a hate crime.

Anderson-Young, 23, had just graduated from University, and was meant to start work for Microsoft as a data analyst.

Said, 27 – the eldest son of a Somali family – worked two jobs, and was believed to be getting a ride home with Anderson-Young at the time of the shooting.

Falana Young Wyatt, the mother of Anderson-Young, said she had worried in the past that he could be targeted for his race and sexuality.

She said: “I had my son when I was 16 – I was really really young. We grew up together. He was everything to me.”

“I always encouraged him to be who he is, what he is, it didn’t matter.

“I told him, ‘You are my son, I love you no matter what.’ I did worry about him because I said you are a black man, but you’re a black gay man. And you’re going to have it hard.

“Just knowing what is out there, I wanted to protect him. And I feel like I failed. I failed at protecting him, because he [was] just going out with friends, and he’s three houses down.”

26-year-old Matalepuna Malu had previously been arrested in connection with the killings, but he was only charged for an unrelated assault.
