American Family Association refuses $10 donation over Harvey Milk stamp
The American Family Association refused a $10 donation, because it was sent in an envelope with a commemorative Harvey Milk stamp on.
The group announced they were boycotting the postal service last month, over the unveiling of a stamp in memory of gay rights hero Harvey Milk.
A reader of blog Wonkette sought to test the anti-gay groupās resolve, by sending them a donation with the stamp on, but it was returned unopened.
He joked: āI thought their credibility could be purchased for $10. If only theyād set their non-gay pride aside, they could have purchased 22 non-Harvey Milk stamps with that much.
āDoesnāt the AFA care for the patriotic civic servants at the USPS? Those who had to walk this poor Harvey Milk envelope back to me in a socialistic manner?
āThe LEAST the AFA could have done was put another stamp on it to pay the offending donation back to me. Perhaps with the Anita Bryant stamp?ā
The AFA had previously said: āHonoring predator Harvey Milk on a U.S. postage stamp is disturbing to say the least. He is the last person we should be featuring on a stamp.
āFurthermore, the radical homosexual lobby will undoubtedly encourage businesses to use these stampsāall in the name of inclusiveness, political correctness and unity.
āWhatever you think about diversity, no one thinks diversity ought to include paedophilia. This is not diversity; this is perversity.ā
