Report: Robbie Rogers’ coming out story inspires new comedy TV series
According to reports, the coming out of former Leeds United player Robbie Rogers has inspired a comedy series.
He later reversed his decision to quit the game and signed for US team LA Galaxy.
Deadline.com reports that Universal TV may fund the development and production of a series, which would see Rogers act as producer.
The report states that Universal has optioned the rights of Rogers’ story to be produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron’s Storyline Entertainment. The pair will work as executive producers.
Earlier this year, an eight-part series to follow out NFL player Michael Sam in his personal life as he embarked on his playing career with the St Louis Rams, was postponed indefinitely.
