Sam Smith denies Bond theme rumours
Recently out singer Sam Smith has denied rumours that he is ‘in talks’ to record the theme tune for the next James Bond film.
It was reported this week that the singer is in talks with producers of the popular spy films to sing the theme for the next film, following Adele’s Skyfall anthem.
The next Bond film is set to be released on 23 October 2015 in the UK, but the singer has denied he is in line to sing for it, in an interview with NME.
The Money on My Mind singer said: “No, I have no idea what that was about and I know as much as you do. You probably know more than me – I didn’t even read the article.”
“I think it’s something everyone would love to do, but yeah, it was all news to me. I won’t say any more on it.”
He added: “My favourite Bond them was Jack White and Alicia Keys, Another Way To Die [for 2008 film Quantum of Solace].
“I love that, I thought it was amazing. Her voice and his voice together, I thought, was really interesting.”
Smith, who revealed in May that his album was written about a man he had fallen in love with, previously claimed people need to “act” equal if they want equal rights.
He said: “I would say just be yourself. Don’t make it an issue. Let’s make it a normality.”
The singer had first ignited rumours about his sexuality when the music video for his track ‘Leave Your Lover’ showed him at the centre of a gay love triangle.
