US: Indiana must recognise out-of-state same-sex marriages
A federal judge has ruled Indiana must recognise same-sex marriages performed in other states.
The Tuesday ruling, however, does not take effect until the 7th US Circuit Court of Appeals rules on same-sex marriage.
The decision came in response to three plaintiffs, two who partners looking to share federal benefits and one of whom is looking to dissolve her marriage to her former partner.
The 7th circuit court is scheduled to hear arguments next week the state’s same-sex marriage ban.
A judge struck down the state’s marriage ban in late June.
