Watch: Coronation Street cast release music video for Manchester Pride
The cast of Coronation Street have released a music video to celebrate Manchester Pride.
The video features the stars of the ITV soap as well as the crew, dancing through the set to I’m Alive (Life Sounds Like), by Michael Franti & Spearhead.
It also features several locations from the show, including the iconic street exterior, the inside of the Rovers Return, several houses and even the production offices.
A statement read: “Our cast and crew support Manchester Pride every year and this year we’re feeling the love so we made a little film about it. Enjoy and please share so we can spread the smiles.”
However, the first comment on the video read: “Totally put off that you support gays. Swapping to Eastenders now.”
Manchester Pride took place last weekend, with thousands of revellers attending the parade, led by Orange is the New Black’s Lea DeLaria.
Former Tory minister Edwina Currie also took part in the parade, marching with the LGBTory group.
The group argued that ‘right of way’ laws mean that the organisers of the event had no right to prevent them from entering the cordon without tickets, as it is a public space.
