Julia Gasper, who called for PinkNews readers to be sectioned, standing in by-election next week
Julia Gasper, who has called for PinkNews readers to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act, is standing for the English Democrats in an Oxford council by-election next week.
Dr Gasper, who stood down as UKIP Oxford’s Chairperson in January last year, recently claimed that her former party is “plagued” with “grotesque” transsexuals, and previously called for PinkNews readers to be sectioned.
She has announced her candidacy for next week’s Quarry and Risinghurst by-election, for a vacancy created by Labour councillor Laurence Baxter stepping down over work commitments.
The election will be held on September 18, with Gasper running against Tory candidate Katharine Harborne, Labour candidate Chewe Munkonge, Lib Dem Roz Smith, and the Green Party’s Liz Taylor.
She last stood for the English Democrats in May’s European Elections, where the party managed to scrape just 0.76% of the vote in the region, winning just 17,771 votes.
Gasper had previously called for Grindr to be banned, and claimed Daniel Radcliffe and a “queer mafia” were responsible for “victimising” former Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich into stepping down.
Dr Gasper, who sits on Risinghurst and Sandhills Parish Council, has also claimed that World AIDS Day “congratulates” people for “spreading this disease”, and said she hoped “guilt” killed “queer gangsters” over same-sex marriage, and described Pink News as a “vile rabid dog” of “homosexual bullies”.
