US: Male security guard accused of sexting under-age girls, but partner says he’s gay
A gay security guard at a Denver school has been accused of sending explicit texts to under-age girls.
22-year-old Enrique Vega, a guard at South High School in Denver, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of sending lewd messages to two girls, one of whom is just 15.
The school contacted the police after one of the girl’s friends reported the incident – but Vega denies all wrongdoing, and says he has “no idea” who the students are.
His same-sex partner has also come forward to refute the claims.
Israel Hernandez told Fox Denver: “He’s one honest and truthful person and I know because he’s my partner.
“I don’t know what they’re trying to get away with. I honestly don’t know.
“All I am saying is he would not do such a thing. I guarantee you that.”
In a letter to parents, Principal Kristin Waters wrote: “Yesterday, several female students reported that Enrique Vega, a security guard at our school, engaged in inappropriate texting that included lewd photos and messages.
“School leaders immediately contacted the Denver Police Department and DPS Safety and Security. The employee has been arrested and is facing charges.
“He has been placed on leave pending the resolution of the criminal case and the investigation, and he will not be at our school.
“At this time, it’s believed the allegations all stem from text messages and photographs.”
Vega’s bond was set at $50,000.
