US: Teen could face jail over photo of Jesus statue ‘blowjob’
A teenager in Pennsylvania is facing criminal charges, after he posted a photo to Facebook staged to look like a statue of Jesus was giving him a blowjob.
The boy, who has not been named, faces a charge of “Desecration of a Venerated Object” after he snapped the picture with a kneeling statue in front of the HQ of a Love in the Name of Christ group in Everett.
The archaic Pennsylvania law defines the crime as “defacing, damaging, polluting or otherwise, physically mistreating in a way that the actor knows will outrage the sensibilities of persons likely to observe or discover the action”.
According to The Smoking Gun, he could face up to two years in a juvenile institution if found guilty in family court.
JT Eberhard of WWJTD wrote: “This law about venerated objects needs to be challenged and unmade, and I hope this case can be a vehicle for that.
“I imagine most Christians at that church shudder at the idea of Sharia law, which is pretty much defined by its harsher laws for so much as offending Islam.
“And yet, look at the laws we have in some places right here in America. This is very, very sad.”
Earlier this week, a mysterious giant statue of Satan with a large erection appeared in Vancouver.
