Snoop Dogg under fire for labelling fan a ‘fag’ on Instagram
Rapper Snoop Dogg is facing backlash after calling a fan a ‘fag’ on Instagram.
The high-profile rapper, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus, uploaded a screenshot to the photography website this morning of another user, accompanied with a homophobic caption.
It read: “U n ya boyfriend since u like Jumpn on my page disrespectn bitch boy go suck ya man n get off my line f.A. G.”
The picture was online for over forty minutes, and was shared with his 11.6 million Twitter followers and 3.5 million Instagram followers – though it has now been deleted.
The rapper is yet to clarify whether he was responsible for posting the message himself.
In April, he had claimed that homosexuality may not ever be acceptable in rap music.
He said: “It’s acceptable in the singing world, but in the rap world I don’t know if it will ever be acceptable because rap is so masculine.
“It’s like a football team. You can’t be in a locker room full of motherf**king tough ass dudes, then all of a sudden say, ‘Hey, man, I like you’.
“You know… that’s going to be tough.”
His comments contradicted those he made two years ago after musician Frank Ocean came out, when he said Hip-Hop was ready to accept a gay rapper.
