Chile: Clothing brand inexplicably removes ad containing gay kiss and sparks parody
A Chilean clothing company, after promoting an ad featuring a same-sex kiss, has removed it, and replaced it with a toned-down version.
La Polar Chile is a popular clothing brand, and last month uploaded a version of an ad featuring same-sex couples kissing, along with the message: “No bullying.”
After the advert was removed, and replaced with a version which still features the same-sex couples, but only briefly holding hands, rather than kissing, a parody version was uploaded.
While the original advert has seen 40,000 YouTube views, the parody version has been viewed ten times as much, at 401,000.
