Leaflets comparing gays to paedophiles now delivered in Lincoln

Leaflets claiming that homosexuality is “not natural” and a “rebellion against nature” have been delivered in Lincoln.

PinkNews readers report that the leaflet, titled ‘Homosexualism: A Few Points’, was distributed in the city this week.

Similar leaflets have surfaced in several other areas this year – in Cambridge in April, in Brighton and Leicestershire last month, and in Stoke-on-Trent earlier this month.

One of the leaflets previously obtained reads in part: “The practice of homosexuality is both blasphemy against God and rebellion against nature.

“It [is] abundantly evident that a penis is made for a vagina, and not for an anus. An anus is in fact designed solely for defecation.

“Homosexuality, as well as being a sin and a vice, is essentially a neurosis, a pathological condition, the result of several factors including childhood experiences.

“Homosexualism has become a cult, and by the indoctrination of school children and regular propaganda through the media, it seeks converts.

“If the practice of homosexuality is acceptable, then in time any form of sexual deviation, perversion and experimentation will be acceptable, including the progressive lowering of the age of consent, taking it below the age of puberty, and thus legalizing paedophilia.”

Local resident Ben Petts told PinkNews: “I am assuming this flyer has been distributed to combat Lincoln Pride that will be happening this weekend.

“Although I am personally disgusted by this flyer I feel like something needs to be done because only months ago a young teenager in Lincoln took his own life for being bullied about Homosexuality.

“My fear is that a young person may read this and feel like their is something wrong with them. Not only that but gay people in specific may be getting targeted by this type of publication.”

PC Luke Casey of Lincoln Community Policing told The Lincolnite: “We have been made aware that a number of residents in the Park Ward area have had these leaflets posted through their front doors and we are investigating.

“The literature has caused offense to a number of people and we are carrying out enquiries to find out where and who these flyers have come from.

“Lincolnshire Police supports every person’s right to hold their own opinion and express it freely but when that expression causes others offense and worry we will step in.”

A 53-year-old man was reported to police in Stoke-on-Trent for distributing the homophobic leaflets, but police confirmed he will not face charges.

However, there is currently no evidence to suggest that the Lincoln incident is connected.

Anyone with information about the leaflets should contact Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 350 of 22/09/2014.
