Three arrested following violent Philadelphia assault on a gay couple
Three people have been charged in connection with an attack on a gay couple which took place in Philadelphia, and have all been released on bail.
Phillip Williams, 24, Kathyrn Knott, 24 and Kevin Harrigan, 26, were all arrested, but bailed on Thursday.
The attack took place on 11 September, and a dozen adults have been linked to the attack. Police released surveillance video last Tuesday, and social media users assisted in the investigation by identifying individuals in a group photo.
Many have noted that Knott is the daughter of Chalfont, Pennsylvania Police Chief Karl Knott, and she had posted anti-gay messages on social media in the past.
A video showed the group of men and women and their encounter with a gay couple who were going out for pizza.
The victims say they were held down, punched and beaten, and subjected to homophobic slurs after they bumped into the group on the street.
Documents from court state that Williams and Harrigan both posted $75,000 (£46,000) bail, and Knott posted $50,000 (£30,000).
They are all charged with criminal conspiracy, as well as two counts each of aggravated assault, simple assault, and reckless endangerment.
