Brighton: Knife man charged with homophobic abuse at party
A man has been charged over homophobic abuse at a party in Brighton and Hove and also possessing a knife.
Police were called to Barrowfield Drive in Brighton at 3.20am on Sunday 12 October, following reports that a man was being drunk and disorderly at a party.
Peter Dawson, 21, umemployed, of Hove, was arrested for the alleged offences and will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 30 October.
He was charged with racially or religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress, homophobic use of threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress, being drunk and disorderly and possession of a knife or bladed article.
Sussex Police said it takes all reports of hate crime seriously.
