Anti-gay group protests to ban straight shirtless boy band in stilettos
An anti-gay group has protested to block a boy band from performing in Kyrgyzstan despite that it currently has no gay members.
The Kalys group protested with 300 members against a performance by Kazaky, a boy band who are known for performing in stilettos and without shirts.
Kalys protested against the Ukranian band’s Guns’n’Roses nightclub performance in order to defend “traditional values”, despite the fact that among the shirtless performers, only one former member has actually come out as gay, reports the BBC.
Several of the members are married with children.
According to reports, the club was forced to cancel the concert, and said it “incurred heavy losses,” and police were reluctant to take action.
