Church pulls ‘I’m Not Gay No More’ clips off YouTube and threatens legal action
A church is reportedly threatening to sue a man who claimed to be cured of homosexuality at their event.
The original clip went viral earlier this month of a man, Andrew Caldwell, being ‘delivered’ from homosexuality at a Church of God in Christ (COGIC) event.
In the clip, Mr Caldwell yells to cheers from the congregation: “I’m not gay no more. I am delivered!
“I don’t like mens no more. I said I like women. Women women women women!”
The original video went viral online, and Mr Caldwell decided to cash in by making an autotune single version.
However, TMZ reports that COGIC is now threatening to sue Mr Caldwell over the single, claiming it has ownership of the audio he used.
The song has since been removed from YouTube – but it is still available to buy on iTunes.
A number of other I’m Not Gay No More clips have also been removed from YouTube, bearing the message: “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Church of God in Christ Inc.”
Mr Caldwell says he alone owns the rights – because it’s his voice that was used.
