Ed Miliband: Nobody anywhere in the world should face discrimination for having HIV
Labour Leader Ed Miliband has made a video in support of World AIDS Day 2014, in which he puts an emphasis on the importance of early diagnosis, and says tackling stigma associated with HIV is hugely important.
In the video, published by the National AIDS Trust, he says: “This World AIDS Day I am proud to wear the red ribbon in solidarity with those diagnosed with HIV. We know there have been huge medical advances when it comes to HIV, but we know we’ve got to do a lot more to counter the stigma associated with the disease.
“It’s the right thing to do because nobody anywhere in the world should face prejudice or discrimination because they’ve been diagnosed with HIV. It’s also the right thing to do because we want to support early diagnosis.
“So this year, on World AIDS Day, join me in wearing the red ribbon in solidarity with those living with HIV.”
