JK Rowling: ‘Of course’ Hogwarts is a safe place for LGBT students
Famed author JK Rowling has said fictional wizarding school Hogwarts is a “safe place” for LGBT people.
The ‘Harry Potter‘ author responded to a fan on twitter who said: “Do you think there are a lot of LGBT students in modern age Hogwarts? It’s safe to assume that Hogwarts had a variety of people and I like to think it’s a safe place for LGBT students”.
She replied “But of course.”

Rowling has previously described the book series as “a prolonged argument for tolerence” and in 2007 revealed that character Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts, was gay and in love with evil wizard Grindelwald.
She said: “It has certainly never been news to me that a brave and brilliant man could love other men.”
