Every day thousands of people come to PinkNews for our leading coverage of LGBT issues – but a lot of people also find our coverage by accident while looking for other things.
And every day, people arrive on our site looking for things that are just plain weird.
Here are some of the strangest search terms that people have used.
1. ‘Is David Cameron gay?’
Google searchers looking for this find David Cameron’s author page on PinkNews.
He is the only head of government in the world to regularly write for an LGBT publication – a tradition started on PinkNews with Tony Blair.
2. ‘Do gay guys have a better sense of smell?’
This search term brings people to an article from 2008, about a study that found structural differences in gay people’s brains.
Unfortunately, gay people do not generally benefit from an enhanced sense of smell, super-strength or other superpowers. Sorry.
3. ‘Benjamin Cohen nude’
I assume people don’t want to find naked pictures of my boss, PinkNews publisher Benjamin Cohen (though if they do they can ask his boyfriend)
Searchers were probably looking for pictures of the rugby player Ben Cohen, who has stripped off for Gay Times magazine.
4. ‘Is Graham Norton gay?’
We’re genuinely not sure who needs this confirming – but people searching for this clicked through to an article from 2006.
5. ‘Real moms filming themselves sexually’
We can only apologise to this searcher – who clearly did not get what they were looking for.
Instead of their desired x-rated clip, they were linked to this video from earlier this year about a mother and her son coming out to eachother.
6. ‘Is Prince Harry gay?’
People enquiring about the private life of the fourth-in-line to the throne, who reportedly split from girlfriend Cressida Bonas earlier this year, might have received some validation.
7. ‘Did Nick Grimshaw date Harry Styles?’
Despite public denials, people continue to wonder whether the One Direction singer is hooking up with his Radio 1 DJ friend.
Styles said last year: “We’re not dating, no. We’re just friends. Bisexual? Me? I don’t think so… I’m pretty sure I’m not.”
8. ‘Pastor who was licking woman bums in order for them to get pregnent’ [sic]
We’re not sure if even the internet can fulfil this person’s oddly-specific fantasy – but this article about a sexual assault conviction was probably not what they were seeking.
9. ‘Singer Pink bisexual sexy pictures’
We are often confused with a fansite for the singer P!nk – who is married to motocross racer Carey Hart, and has a daughter.
We aim to please, though – this is the sexiest picture we could find.
