Sam Smith: I only wanted a boyfriend to sing Fergalicious with
Sam Smith has joked that he only got a boyfriend so that he would have someone to sing the song Fergalicious with.
The ‘Stay With Me’ singer came out in May last year, when he revealed that his album In the Lonely Hour was about a man he fell in love with.
Last week, the singer uploaded his first photos with his new boyfriend Jonathan Zeizel, taken during a trip to Sydney over New Year.
He reposted a joke on Instagram today that said: “The only reason I want a boyfriend is so that when I’m singing Fergalicious and its at the part where she says ‘I be up in the gym just working on my fitness he’s my witness’ I can point to him and he’ll do the little ‘wooOOH’ part because right now I have to do both parts myself and it’s stressful because right after the wooOOH part I have to get right back into rapping and the transition is harder than you think so yeah I need a bf because of that.”
The singer added: “AMEN!”
The pair met when Jonathan danced for the singer’s music video, Like I Can.
Smith said last month: “It’s very early days. I’m talking very, very, very early days. But he’s really sweet.”
