Police investigating ‘pipe bomb’ threats against gay MP Chris Bryant
Police are investigating death threats sent to gay Labour MP Chris Bryant, after he tweeted about Charlie Hebdo.
Mr Bryant is the MP for the Rhondda, and in a reshuffle last year became shadow minister for the arts.
He was besieged with threats on Twitter, after posting about the attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris, which left 12 people dead.
A now-suspended Twitter account, @jesuischarlie1, accused him yesterday of being a Muslim “apologist”, and added: “Gonna pipe bomb your office”.
I shall be reporting @jesuischarlie1 threats to pipe bomb my office to the police.

He said this morning: “Thanks for good wishes following vile threats on Twitter last night. Police are investigating.”
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “We have received a report and investigations are under way.”
Earlier today, French police killed the two men believed to be the top suspects in the massacre, after a tense stand-off in the city.
According to reports, gunshots and explosions took place at a warehouse in Dammartin-en-Goele, where the men were holding at least one hostage.
The two suspects, reported by French press as Cherif and Said Kouachi, were killed in the raid.
