Tiffany ad features gay couple for the first time ever
Famed jewellery company Tiffany has featured a same-sex couple in its advertising for the first year in its long history.
The ad features a real same-sex couple from New York City alongside a range of wedding rings, and the question: “Will you?”
The copy for the ad reads: “Will you promise to never stop completing my sentences or singing off-key, which I’m afraid you do often? And will you let today be the first sentence of one long story that never, ever ends?”
A spokesperson for the company has said about the new ad: “Nowadays, the road to marriage is no longer linear . . . True love can happen more than once with love stories coming in a variety of forms.”
The ad has been hailed as a landmark for the New York-based company, founded in 1837, which employs over 10,000 people.
