Kristen Stewart addresses tabloid ‘lesbian’ rumours
Kristen Stewart has addressed tabloid rumours about her sexuality, after photos were published of her on holiday with a woman.
The former Twilight actress – who has kept her love life private ever since splitting from former co-star Robert Pattinson – was spotted with “close friend” Alicia Cargile on holiday in Honolulu.
Photos published by a number of tabloids shows the pair holding hands and snuggling on a Hawaii beach- with the Metro claiming: “Kristen Stewart fuels lesbian rumours”.
The actress addressed the rumours while talking to HuffPost Live about film Still Alice.
She was asked: “How often do you see something portrayed in the press, headlines about what you’re wearing and what you look like in your personal life, who you’re dating… How often do you see something and just think ‘that is so far from the truth?’
The actress avoided addressing the claims directly, saying: “There’s a whole other form of entertainment that’s just voraciously consumed in itself.”
Co-star Julianne Moore rescued her from the question, interjecting: “For her, especially, there’s been so much interest in Kristen for the longest time.
“Because of the size of the movies she’s been involved in when she was very young, it’s hard to escape that.
“I think that it’s also a form of entertainment. I think you have to take all that stuff with a grain of salt, and she often does.”
