Bryan Fischer: ‘Obama isn’t a Christian because he supports gays’
Bryan Fischer of the hate group American Family Association has said that Barack Obama’s support of LGBT people means he is not a Christian.
Fischer said on his radio show: “I do not know what goes on inside Barack Obama’s heart, but I do know that he is not a sincerely devoted follower of Jesus Christ. So, in my mind, that means he’s not a Christian.
“Nobody can support and promote and celebrate homosexual behavior who is a sincerely devoted follower of Christ. It’s impossible.
“He walks like a Muslim. He talks like a Muslim. He sounds like a Muslim. He acts like a Muslim.”
Mr Obama’s relationship to religion has been well documented in his autobiographies. He was educated in a variety of different religious schools and raised in a religiously diverse family. As an adult, he was baptised into the United Church of Christ which is a progressive denomination that advocates for same-sex marriage.
In 2008, Obama said in an interview with Christian Today: “I am a Christian, and I am a devout Christian. I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“I believe that that faith gives me a path to be cleansed of sin and have eternal life. But most importantly, I believe in the example that Jesus set by feeding the hungry and healing the sick and always prioritizing the least of these over the powerful.”
