Lance Bass to attend mass same-sex wedding in Florida
Former N Sync star Lance Bass will attend a mass same-sex wedding in Florida’s Fort Lauderdale next week.
The wedding will be hosted for 100 same and opposite-sex couples will take place on Ford Lauderdale Beach at sunrise.
Hosted by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitiors Bureau, the theme of the mass-wedding was dubbed “love is love”.
The hundred couples will marry on 5 February.
Bass will serve as an ambassador at the wedding, which will be officiated by Reverend Dr Durrell Watkins, a senior minister at the Sunshine Cathedral.
“Lance shares the same pioneering spirit of advocating for LGBT equality that we embody here in Greater Fort Lauderdale,” Nicki Grossman, president and CEO of the Visitors Bureau, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to have him be part of our historic moment on the same day he shares his own personal wedding with the world.”
Gay and lesbian couples began to marry in Florida last month as a ban on same-sex marriage was lifted.
Bass married his husband on 20 December, and will celebrate with the couples, some of who are travelling from as far away as London and Italy.
