A pair of lesbian activists have snapped a photo of a gay kiss in front of the architect of Russiaā€™s ā€˜gay propagandaā€™ law.

A photo was uploaded to social media today, showing a couple locking lips in front of extreme homophobic Senator Vitaly Milonov on a plane.

The photo was reportedly taken on a Aeroflot flight from Moscow to St Petersburg.

Milonov confirmed the authenticity of the photo, telling FlashNord: ā€œThese crazy idiots were so brave that after taking the photo they ran to the end of the plane, sat there and didnā€™t even stick their necks out until the end of the flight.ā€

The Senator is one of the most notorious homophobes in Russian politics, and has been known to affiliate with extreme anti-gay groups to ā€˜raidā€™ LGBT events.

He is currently bringing forward legislation that would close a ā€˜loopholeā€™ in the countryā€™s laws which allowed a lesbian couple to marry.

Irina Shumilova and Alyona Fursova married in a St Petersburg registry office earlier this month, both turning up in wedding dresses and holding bouquets of flowers.

In 2013, Milanov said that gay people were not ā€œnormalā€ and compared being gay to living ā€œwith a dog, with a horse, with a sheep, whatever.ā€.

Milanovā€™s notorious anti-gay ā€œpropagandaā€ law, was signed in to law the same year by President Vladimir Putin.
