Three men hospitalised after incident at gay London sauna
Three men have been rushed to hospital, after a drug-related incident at a gay sauna in London.
Chariots Health Club in Vauxhall – one of the largest gay saunas in London – was closed after the incident early on Sunday morning.
A number of police cars and ambulances were called to the sauna, and three men were taken to hospital.
A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “Officers attended and spoke to a man in his thirties who admitted consuming class A drugs.
“He was taken to a north London hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
“Two other men were subsequently found collapsed inside the club.
“Both men were conveyed by London Ambulance Service to a central London hospital where they remain in a stable condition.”
The sauna has since re-opened.
A separate branch of Chariots, in Shoreditch, was severely damaged in a fire in 2011. Around 150 men were evacuated from the club during the incident, many of them barefoot and wearing towels.
In 2012, a 46-year-old man was discovered dead in the Chariots sauna in Shoreditch.
