Weatherman Fred Talbot found guilty of abusing teenage boys
Former ITV weatherman Fred Talbot has been found guilty of indecently assaulting two teenage boys.
Talbot, 65, of Bowdon, Manchester, was accused of 10 counts of historical indecent assault relating to five boys, from the 1960s to the 1980s, while a teacher at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys.
After three days of deliberation, he was today found guilty of assaulting two boys, after a trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.
He was found guilty of two of the ten charges of indecent assault – against two students on canal trips in the 1970s.
The former weatherman has been remanded in custody until March 13, when he will be sentenced.
Judge Timothy Mort said that prison was “inevitable” for Talbot, because of the breach of trust involved in the crime.
