Dan Savage defends challenging anti-gay Republican to ‘suck my d**k’
Dan Savage has defended himself, after challenging a Republican to back up claims that sexuality is a choice by performing a gay sex act.
Fox pundit Ben Carson, who is a rumoured Republican presidential candidate, said earlier this week that prisons prove being gay is “absolutely” a choice.
Advice columnist Dan Savage attacked Dr Carson’s views, challenging him: “Show America how that’s done, Ben, show us how a man can choose to be gay. Suck my dick.
“Name the time and the place and I’ll bring my dick and a camera crew and you can suck me off and win the argument.”
CNN host Brian Stelter this weekdnd questioned him about the comment, saying: “Some people thought that was equally vile. Why do you think it’s appropriate or necessary to lower yourself to that level?”
Savage responded: “Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. Famously my readers and I redefined Rick Santorum’s last name to something vile.
“Rick Santorum and Ben Carson have compared gay people to child rapists, people who have sex with animals, necrophilia…
“Ben Carson says the vilest and most disgusting things about gay people.
“Sometimes to get the attention of someone like that – to really make it clear to them how disgusting they are being – you have to meet them on the field where they are doing battle and take them on.”
