Miley Cyrus to Indiana Governor: ‘You’re an a-hole’ for signing anti-gay bill
Singer Miley Cyrus has taken aim at the Governor of Indiana for signing a controversial bill that allows organisations to discriminate based on religious objection.
Governor Mike Pence signed the bill into law this week.
The bill allows organisations, including businesses and churches, to refuse service to anyone on religious grounds. Nineteen other states have similar laws, and many others have proposals making their way through the legislature.
Alongside a photo of the Governor, Cyrus wrote: “You’re an a–hole @govpenceIN.”
She continued, writing: “The only place that has more idiots [than] Instagram is in politics.”
Commending her brother Braison, who also said he opposed the measure, and who called Pence “Governor Penis,” Cyrus encouraged followers to tweet the Governor expressing their views.
However Governor Pence denies that the bill is intended to discriminate, Writing in the Indy Star, he said: “This bill is not about discrimination… and if I thought it legalized discrimination I would have vetoed it.”
