Kellie Maloney warns UKIP: Don’t become a ‘party of cavemen’ on gay rights
Trans ex-UKIP candidate Kellie Maloney has said her party needs to “live in the real world” on LGBT issues – or it will become a “party of cavemen”.
Despite apologising for some of her anti-gay views prior to transition, Maloney claimed in August: “I don’t think that children should be brought up in same-sex marriages”.
However, when questioned on her views on Twitter this week, Maloney – who spoke at UKIP’s recent Spring conference – said she no longer opposes same-sex couples having children.
She tweeted: “if a child is happen looked after thats (sic) all that counts. Single same sex or a mum and dad a child’s welfare has to be put 1st.”

“I have no worries about same can sex married or family’s no one can count for falling in love”.
Maloney has children herself with her ex-wife.
