US radio host compares homophobic pizzeria owners to Anne Frank
A US radio host has compared a pizzeria which said it would not provide pizzas for a same-sex wedding to Anne Frank, saying gays “trap good-hearted American families in their home.”
The owners of Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana had said they would use the newly passed Religious Freedom Restoration Act to refuse to serve pizza at a gay wedding. Crystal O’Connor said: “If a gay couple was to come in and they wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no.
On Monday this week, Fischer weighed in on a controversy surrounding a pizzeria in the US state of Indiana the owners of which said they would decline to make pizzas for a same-sex wedding, comparing them to Anne Frank.
Fischer said: “Think about what you see in the homosexual community and what it tells you about the God that they must worship.
“Whether they recognise it or not, whether they know it or not, but the God that they worship is vengeful, he is vitriolic, he is venomous, he is hateful, he drives his followers to trap a good-hearted American family in their home, like Anne Frank, in fear of their lives simply for what they believe.
“So if you turn out to be like the God that you worship, what kind of God must homosexual activists serve?”
Donations to support a the pizzeria earlier this week reached almost a million dollars.
But good news for any same-sex couple wishing to marry in the state, Scrubs stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison offered to make pizza for same-sex weddings in the state.
