This gay couple want Zach Braff to make pizza for their wedding
A gay couple from Fort Wayne in Indiana have started a petition to get the stars of Scrubs to make pizza for their wedding.
Earlier this month, Scrubs stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison offered to provide pizza for same-sex weddings in Indiana – after a pizza shop declared it would not.
Braff had pleged this month: “If you really and truly want pizza for your gay wedding in Indiana… We will make it for you.”
Engaged couple Stephen Bailey and Brian Fletcher, who have been together for five years, are attempting to take the Scrubs actors up on their offer – and have launched a campaign to get them to respond.
The petition states: “Stephen is one of the hardest working, most dedicated and passionate Hoosiers I know. Almost 5 years ago, he was made complete when he met the love of his life, Brian.
“With all the negative controversial news coming out of Indiana, I think it’s time we celebrated love.
“I am taking former ‘Scrubs’ stars up on their offer, and asking them to cater Stephen and Brian’s wedding with pizza from a local business, Pint & Slice, that proudly serves everyone in the Summit City.
“Let’s show the rest of the country what Hoosier Hospitality really is. #FWWelcomesAll”
The petition has since received over signatures responses. PinkNews has also attempted to reach out to Mr Braff.
A donation fund set up for the anti-gay pizzeria owners has since passed a million dollars..
Last week, over $127,000 (£85,000) was been raised for a charity which works with homeless LGBT young people, in response to the pizzeria’s refusal to serve a gay couple.
