As leader of the UK Independence Party, Mr Farage was the only leader of a main UK party to oppose the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act – but he has since confirmed his party will not be repealing the legislation.
Mr Farage has also previously questioned whether the UK should provide overseas aid to countries where homosexuality is illegal, and LGBT rights are not respected.
He told PinkNews last year: “We have absolutely no problem with anybody, whatever group or community they come from, unless they have openly and evidently unpalatable views.”
However, the leader has caused controversy in recent weeks due to comments about “foreigners with HIV” – and has also been accused of failing to act over a number of unsuitable UKIP candidates.
Questions recently closed for the PinkNews readers’ Q&A with David Cameron, Ed Miliband, and Green Party leader Natalie Bennett. Their answers will be published soon.
Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg’s Q&A was released last week.
