Judge clears way for trans discrimination lawsuit to go ahead
The US Government has cleared the way for a trans discrimination lawsuit to go ahead.
Federal Judge Sean Cox this week denied a request to dismiss the case brought by Amiee Stephens against a Detroit funeral home.
Stephens was sacked after telling her employer that she would transition from male to female.
She previously worked as an embalmer at RG & GR Harris Funeral Homes from 2007
The funeral home on requesting the case be dismissed argued that it has an interest in presenting a specific “face” to the public.
