Homophobes jeered, but this troupe just kept on dancing
This black, gay dance troupe had the very best response when they were told they werenāt allowed to dance in a parade in Alabama ā āfuck it, letās just do it anyway.ā
Last week the āPrancing Elites Projectā debuted on Oxygen, the title dance group describe their style as ālike a cheerleading and voguing combined in one with a lot of pelvic thrusting.ā
In the video, taking to Saraland, Alabama, the guys are told they canāt dance in a parade, as they have to have ārespectā for peoplesā families, who may be upset by seeing men in leotards.
After the police officers warn them that they have been banned from dancing in the parade, the troupe then go ahead and just do it anyway, for fear of missing the music.
One of the dancers Jerel, explains: āClearly they dont undestand that telling us no gives us a boost of energy to say fuck it, weāre going to do it anywayā¦ā
After performing a very tight routine, the guys chat to families and kids about tolerance and acceptance. Amazing.
