Teens charged after gay classmate stabbed with a screwdriver
Classmates of a gay teen who was gouged with a screwdriver have been arrested and charged while a teacher allegedly looked on.
According to reports, a “mob of students” attacked 16-year-old Tim Jefferson, of the Carver School of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.
He was punched, kicked and stabbed with the screwdriver, as teachers, and the school’s principal allegedly watched.
Jefferson said as well as homophobic slurs, he was also subjected to racism, and that he was stabbed with the screwdriver just under his eye.
“My face, my eye, my lip, on my back, my spine right in the middle, the back of my neck and I got hit in the back of my head,” Jefferson said.
He said the worst part about the incident was that teachers looked on and did nothing to stop it, and did not call the police.
Jefferson has been taken out of school since the attack happened, and his mother Sabrina is considering taking him to a different school.
While the school did not take action, Jefferson went to police following the attack.
