Nigerian bishop: Obama shouldn’t make aid conditional on acceptance of ‘anti-life’ gay values
A Nigerian bishop has complained that the US shouldn’t make foreign aid contributions conditional on “accepting anti-life values”, such as gay rights.
Bishop Emmanuel Badejo of Oyo, made the comments in an interview, saying that the Obama administration, rather than appointing an LGBT rights envoy, should have appointed on to protect “religious minorities”.
Badejo also complained saying that “people like” Hillary Clinton, when Secretary of State, “very clearly don’t want to hear anything about God.”
He said the US shouldn’t be “making aids and grants to Africa conditional on our accepting anti-life values.”
Another anti-gay Nigerian bishop has been appointed as the new head of the Anglican Communion.
Dr Josiah Idowu-Fearon, the former Anglican Archbishop of the Province of Kaduna, was named the new Secretary General of the Anglican Communion.
