Katie Hopkins on Coleen Nolan: ‘Gay rights are not the same as ISIS, love’
Controversial columnist Katie Hopkins has taken aim at Loose Women panellistĀ Coleen Nolan over a widely condemned comparison between a “support gay marriage” cake and a “support ISIS” one.
Nolan made the comments while hosting the ITV programme on Tuesday, and was joined by Janet Street-Porter and Jamelia, as they discussed the ruling made in Belfast which found that Ashers Bakery unlawfully discriminated by refusing to make a pro-same-sex marriage cake.
She comparedĀ a āsupport gay marriageā cake to one supporting ISIS, the militant group which publicly executes gay people.
āWhat about if someone walked in and said I want a cake and I want the whole Islamic State [ISIS] on it, and how I support them killing ourĀ people,ā she said.
Hopkins took to Twitter to say:Ā āSorry to see @NolanColeen being slated in the press *kills herself laughing at chubsters downfall’. Gay rights are not the same as ISIS love.”

The pair clashed earlier this year after Hopkins appeared on Loose Women to talk about her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother andĀ Nolan asked Hopkins whether she regretted her controversial comments.
She said:Ā āI get insults every day ā I accept what people throw at me.
āIf you put yourself out there on TV you have to expect people wonāt like you.ā
ITV faces calls from viewers to sack Nolan, or for her to issue an apology, however the broadcaster has declined to comment on the issue.
Back in 2007, Nolan caused controversy when she said āthere is only so much I want to acceptā, and that gay couples should not be allowed to adopt.
