Australian model Kris Smith adds his support for same-sex marriage
UK-born model Kris Smith has voiced his opinion on Australia’s same-sex marriage debate.
The fitness enthusiast took to Instagram to post a rainbow photo with the words: “I don’t care if I lose friends for sharing this.
“I support gay marriage, or as I like to call it, marriage.”
Australia is currently the only major English speaking country that does not allow same-sex marriage at all.
To much agreement from his fans, Mr Smith wrote: “Isn’t it time the world gets out of the Stone Age and allows humans to be happy with who they are, and share THEIR lives with whoever they want.”
An Australian political commenter recently said Australia should not follow the Republic of Ireland’s lead on same-sex marriage as “I love the Irish… but these are people who can’t grow potatoes.
“They’ve got a mutant lawn weed as their national symbol and they can’t verbalise the difference between tree and the number three. But, and then all of a sudden, Australia has to follow suit.”
