CONGRATS! Dumbledore and Gandalf got married near the Westboro Baptist Church
Famed wizards Dumbledore and Gandalf tied the knot yesterday a [philosopher’s] stones throw away from the hideously homophobic Westboro Baptist Church.
The ‘wedding’ was set up by Planting Peace and the Equality House, which was set up in Topeka, Kansas, the home of the WBC.
Paid actors played the two wizards at the rainbow-coloured house, which often raises money to support human rights.
The WBC last month threatened to picket the imaginary wedding of Dumbledore and Gandalf, but now it’s not so imaginary.
The threat came after the fundamentalist US Church read on PinkNews that Harry Potter author JK Rowling had endorsed the marriage of her gay character, Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore and Gandalf, played by out actor Sir Ian McKellan.
The church tweeted: “We love it when the picket comes to us”, alongside its typical homophobic signs erected overlooking the ceremony.
The Rainbow House opened in 2013 opposite the WBC.
Earlier last month, The Westboro Baptist Church inadvertently declared its hatred for the Ivory Coast, after printing the Irish flag backwards on protest posters.
